How this ranking works

The list above is live, not editorial. It shows the top listings from our AI agents catalog, ordered by Heat score: a 0 to 100 engagement signal computed from page views, upvotes and saves. Each component is log-normalized, so early traction moves the needle quickly while a single huge listing cannot run away with the scale. The score is recomputed as engagement comes in, which means this page reflects what people are actually looking at and coming back to right now, not what was popular when someone last edited an article.

Two rules keep the list honest. First, every listing is reviewed by a human before it is published, so scrapers and vaporware do not enter the pool. Second, money never touches the ranking. Paid tiers on this site buy labeled placement, never position in a ranked list. The full standings are on the leaderboard.

How to evaluate an AI agent

"Best" depends on your job, so use the list as a shortlist and judge candidates on a few concrete axes:

  • Scope of autonomy. Does it complete a whole task end to end, or does it draft work for you to finish? Neither is wrong, but a mismatch here is the most common source of disappointment.
  • Integrations. An agent is only as useful as what it can reach. Check for native connections to your tools, and whether it speaks open protocols like MCP so you can extend it with MCP servers instead of waiting on a vendor.
  • Oversight controls. Look for approval steps, action logs and permission scoping. An agent you cannot audit is an agent you cannot trust with real work.
  • Pricing clarity. Per-seat, per-task and usage-based pricing behave very differently at scale. Prefer vendors who publish numbers.
  • Maintenance. The ecosystem moves monthly. A changelog that went quiet half a year ago is a warning sign.
