mcp.so has the broadest scope: roughly 19.4K MCP servers, clients and CLI tools, around 250 skills, and even an agents section. In practice the breadth is uneven. The agents vertical held 23 listings as of August 2026, and over half of its servers sit uncategorized in an Other bucket. Submission is $39 one-time with a dofollow link, and sponsors pay $399 to $1,299 per month. Best for sheer browsing surface; weakest on curation.
mcpservers.org lists 9,800+ servers and nothing else. Its distinguishing trait is transparency about money: a $39 one-time review with a dofollow link and a fully published advertising rate card, with sponsorships from $500 to $2,500 per month. Useful as a straightforward servers-only index; there is no API, popularity data or community around it.
MCP Market claims 45K+ servers plus clients and skills, numbers driven by rapid scraped growth. Its genuinely unique feature is a paid skills marketplace, the only directory where authors sell skills directly on a revenue share. Ad pricing is not published. Worth a look if you want to sell a skill; treat the catalog breadth as scraped rather than reviewed.
