If we had to name the most trustworthy MCP-only directory, it would be PulseMCP. A co-founder sits on the MCP Steering Committee, the catalog of roughly 22,000 servers is updated daily, the per-server data is the richest in the space, and the weekly newsletter has a real audience. Its Pulse API, which enriches registry data with visitor estimates and security and compatibility analysis, is probably the strongest data asset any MCP directory holds. None of that is easy to match, and we are not going to claim we match it today.
PulseMCP's boundaries are scope and access. It covers MCP servers, clients, and curated use cases, and stops there: no AI agents, no agent skills. There is also no self-serve path for builders; nothing is sold to listing owners, and server submissions were even paused for a stretch in 2026 during an ingestion rework. If you build something and want it discoverable on your own schedule, PulseMCP does not really offer you a door.
We cover the layers PulseMCP leaves out. Agents, MCP servers, and skills share one catalog and link to each other, so discovery follows the shape of a real agentic stack. Builders can submit for free any time, a human reviews every listing before it publishes, and our Heat ranking moves only with engagement. Paid upgrades exist, but they are one-time, transparently priced, and never touch rank. Our catalog is young and far smaller than PulseMCP's; curation over volume is a deliberate choice, not a spin on being new.
