DevReady is a free, read-only command-line tool that checks installed Node.js, Python, and Git versions against requirements declared by a project. It reads project files such as `.nvmrc`, `package.json` engines, and `pyproject.toml` requires-python, then reports results in plain language. It is for developers and AI coding agents, including Claude Code, Codex, and other MCP clients. DevReady provides versioned JSON output for CI and an MCP server with a read-only `check_environment` tool. It is open source under the MIT license.
