Brix is a command-line tool for setting up a project stack for a coding agent. You choose the frontend, API, database, and agent; Brix checks that the choices fit and installs the skills into an empty folder. It writes files including stack.json, agent instructions, a prompt starter, and skills for Cursor, Codex, or Claude Code. The stack can include core technologies, services, cloud setup, and tools.

Key features

  • Checks whether selected stack options are compatible before writing files.
  • Installs skills and agent instruction files into an empty folder.
  • Supports Cursor, Claude Code, and Codex.
  • Can read an existing stack.json configuration.
  • Allows partial stacks and omits blank or None choices from the command.

Use cases

  1. 01Set up a project stack for a coding agent.
  2. 02Generate agent instructions and skills for a selected frontend and backend.
  3. 03Configure a stack with services, cloud options, and development tools.
